Cocoa Nib & Cardamom Pod Green Tea

By Thursday, October 2, 2014 0 , Permalink 0

This cocoalicious recipe uses a very special green tea — Snowy Mountain Jian. This tea is grown at high altitudes in the Yunnan Province of China. Although a green tea, this tea is processed a bit differently than other green teas – giving it a more full body flavor somewhat similar to black teas. Please note, you can use any green tea (or even black) you like.

  • 1/2 c. cocoa nibs
  • 2 c. Snowy Mountain Jian green tea
  • 2 Tbsp cardamom pods
  • 3 – 4 cinnamon sticks
  • .5 tsp cloves
  • .5 tsp peppercorns

Preparation Method

  1. Bring 6 cups of water to boil
  2. Add all ingredients then, turn heat to low, cover and let simmer for about 1 hour
  3. Strain and serve with nut or seed milk & a touch of honey or maple syrup.

Keep leftover tea in refrigerator and re-heat as needed.
